A DVI extender consists of a transmitter and receiver, which helps to transmit single link digital DVI display up to 3 many feet from computer through the fiber optic cable. It is used to support resolutions up to 1,920 x 1,200.
It is available as DVI fiber optic extender, allows to transmit the signal via fiber optic cable, CAT5 DVI Extender which can be easily installed as it needs a plug-in and plug-out system and the last type is DVI-D Fiber Optic Extender which also uses the fiber optic cable but at the same time DVI-D connectors are also used which gives the output of high clarity and good resolution
